Summary: This is an alternative plot of ‘Aladdin’ if Aladdin had given over the lamp to Jafar at the mouth of the Cave of Wonders, granting Jafar the power of the genie. This leads to Jafar’s rule over Agrabah which is a very dark time for the people of Agrabah. The street rats start a rebellion against him. Review: This is a very dark version of the original book. The starting up until he enters the Cave of Wonders is the same. Aladdin has great leadership and decision making skills and somehow Jasmine is both caring and self- centered. But I think that more life could be added to Jafar’s character as in this book, he is simply portrayed as evil. The villain could be ambition, power hungry or very zealous, but he can’t JUST be evil because he’s crazy. The Genie also misses his spark, for which he is KNOWN for. And Aladdin has a one track mind during the whole book, he abandons human instinct in order to be a HERO.

Summary: This book revolves around Theo and Violet. Life has been hard for Violet after her sisters death and Theo known as the school freak, struggles with bipolar depression. They meet unexpectedly on the top of the bell tower and they’re both there for the same reason. It’s unclear who saves whom but everyone’s calling Violet, the girl who saved the freak, a hero. They travel the states together and discover a lot more than the wonders of their surroundings. With Violet, Theo can be his weird, funny self. And with Theo, Violet doesn’t count days, instead she lives them. But is being together enough for Theo? Review : (Spoiler alert) This book doesn't end the way you would expect it to, it doesn't give you the typical YA novel happily ever after.Though it is a beautiful depiction of how even the most damaged are capable of love. According to me, it doesn't do right by Violet who's already lost and gone through so much. In the moment at the bell towe

Summary: This is about Cath, who’s an introvert and not big on socialising. She has a twin, Wren who seems to be better at everything and is very open and confident. They used to do everything together until it was time for college and Wren didn’t want to do everything together anymore. Cath is buried in fan fiction which might be one of the only things she loves doing. It’s hard for her to leave her dad as he hadn’t been the same after their mom left. But now she has to step out of her comfort zone. Review: The way the author describes Cath and her thoughts is very enthralling. She cares for the ones she loves and she learns to step up for herself. In the midst of this, she forms a very close connection that she never thought was possible. Her love for fan fiction is very inspiring.

Summary: This book revolves around Simon Snow  who attends Watford school of Magicks and he is chosen to save the world of mages from The Humdrum. His roommate Baz, is a vampire who hates Snow. Simon Snow is the worst chosen one who’s ever been chosen. He can’t cast spells properly and neither make his wand work. But as the last year begins, Baz doesn't show up and Simon is sick with worry thinking that Baz is off plotting against him... Review: This book is an amazing roller coaster!! Everything is not what it seems to be. Not his relationship with Baz, his future with Agatha or even the Mage’s intentions.

Summary:  This book is about a girl named Libby. No one tries to look past her weight and try to know her. After her mom died, life had been difficult for Libby and her dad. She had to be lifted out of her home by a crane after having a panic attack. But now she is ready for high school and for meeting new people. She meets Jack Masselin through a cruel high school game. He's the cool 'popular' kid, but no one really knows him. No one know that he cant recognize faces, that he has  prosopagnosia( face blindness) and that he already knows Libby. Review: The thing I love about this book is that they both find someone who sees them for themselves. That Jack overlooks Libby weight and Libby overlooks his condition. This shows the power of understanding.

Summary: This book is about a girl named Madeline  who is being treated for  severe combined immunodeficiency  (SCID) ,  also known as "bubble baby disease". She is not allowed to leave her house or interact with objects that are not sanitized. Then one day, a family moves in the house beside theirs. Madeline   befriends Olly, the boy next door. They become fast friends and they even meet a few times at  her house. When her mom finds out, she fires Carla( her caretaker) and bans Maddy from seeing Olly, but they still talk secretly. Maddy plans to go on a vacation with Olly and over there events take a different turn.. Review: The way the author depicts Madeline's world is very engrossing. The ending is my favorite part as it shows what lengths people go to protect their loved ones. It shows, where he line between care and over protectiveness lies. Maddy's mother tried to protect Maddy but she just ended up taking away a normal life from her daughter which was
